Brief History:
is located in the South Al Batinah Governorate in the town of Quriyat on the Muscat to Sur Highway. It is one of the largest mosques in the country with a capacity for more than 4,000 worshippers. The idea for the mosque was first proposed by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said in 2006 and construction began in 2009. The mosque consists of three main sections: a large prayer hall, a smaller prayer room, and a lecture hall that can hold up to 500 people. The building also features a dome, two minarets, and four entrances. The interior of the mosque has been designed to incorporate Islamic art and design, featuring elements such as intricate glasswork, intricate carvings on the interior walls, and traditional Islamic calligraphy. These doors are embellished with intricate designs and the mosque's name is written in large Arabic script. To the east and west of the entrance are two small prayer towers with conical roofs.
