Brief History:
is a fourteenth-century mosque located in the city of Essaouira, Morocco. It was built by the Muslim sultan Sidi Ahmed el-Mansour in the 14th century, making it one of the oldest mosques in the country. Although it was damaged in the 19th century during an earthquake, it has since been largely restored and is now a major tourist attraction in Essaouira. The mosque is ornately decorated, featuring intricate tile work and geometric designs. It is particularly known for its main entrance, which is made of intricately carved marble. The mosque is open to visitors. It is one of the most famous mosque in Morocco which you must visit.
Architecture:
The Sidi Ahmed El Mansour Mosque is located in Essaouira, Morocco. It was built in 1855 during the reign of the Alawite Sultan Mohamed Ibn Abdallah. The mosque was designed in Ottoman Andalusian style with typical Moorish elements. It has a rectangular floor plan with a flat ceiling and two thin minarets on either side. The exterior has a thick white-washed facade with pointed horseshoe arches and a central star-shaped ornament. The prayer hall is surrounded by four rows of columns with floral stucco capitals. The interior is simple and austere, with green and white marble floors and a large central mihrab. The mosque is also decorated with traditional muqarnas, stalactites, and painted woodwork. It is considered one of the most beautiful mosques in Essaouira. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
Visiting Hours:
The Sidi Ahmed El Mansour Mosque in Essaouira, Morocco is open to visitors throughout the week from 8:00am-8:00pm. However, the mosque does not allow non-Muslims to enter. Therefore, non-Muslim visitors will not be able to enter the mosque. best mosque in the world.

Getting there: The site is open to the public and is located in the western part of the city, close to the port area. It can be most easily accessed by foot or taxi; if coming from outside the city, buses, taxis, and rental cars are available. Hours: Open daily from 8:00am to 9:00pm.
