The current structure of the mosque is composed of five sections including a minaret, a courtyard, a prayer room, a domed mausoleum and a library. The exterior of the minaret is decorated with carved vines and geometric patterns. It is also adorned with copper plaques, colorful tiles and stained glass. The interior of the minaret is divided into four levels and features a set of spiral staircases. The courtyard of the mosque is composed of two main parts. The first is an open courtyard, where visitors can relax and admire the beauty of the surrounding gardens, fountains and ponds. The other part is enclosed by arcades which form a passageway known as the Maghrebiyya. The prayer room of the Jamaa El Jedid Mosque is the most important part of the building. It is composed of an impressive arched ceiling and decorated walls as well as a large prayer rug. In addition, the prayer room also contains an altar and an ornamental mihrab made of marble and wood. Finally, the library is located at the back of the mosque and is devoted to Islamic studies. It contains a large variety of ancient manuscripts and books, some of which date back to the 13th century.
