The parish celebrates the Latin Tridentine Mass, often referred to as the "Extraordinary Form," in Latin as authorized by Pope Benedict XVI. St. Theresa Church was founded in 1953 as a Catholic mission church under the direction of the then pastor of St. Catherine of Siena church in Norwood. It rapidly grew to become a parish that served the Norwood area. In 2008, the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate were assigned to the parish, making St. Theresa the only parish in Massachusetts that is administered by the Oblates. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Malta.
