Knisja tat-Trinità Qaddisa is a Roman Catholic parish church situated in Rabat, Malta. Its official name is the Parish Church of the Most Holy Trinity and it serves as the parish church of Rabat and the Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Malta. The church was built in the 18th century and was designed by Maltese Baroque master Francesco Zahra. It was declared a national monument in 1974 and is one of the most iconic churches in Rabat. Knisja tat-Trinità Qaddisahas a rich history that dates back to 1643 when the foundation stone was laid. The church was first consecrated in 1732 and was used as the cathedral of the newly-formed Diocese of Malta in 1831. The church underwent several renovations and refurbishments over the years and in 1974, it was declared a national monument. Knisja tat-Trinità Qaddisa is an impressive example of Maltese Baroque architecture. It has a large facade with two bell towers and four statues representing the four evangelists. Inside there is a large nave with a central dome and two aisles which lead to the sanctuary. The interior is decorated with rich ornamentation and several works of art, including paintings and murals. Knisja tat-Trinità Qaddisa is an active parish church and provides various services to its community. It has weekly Masses, confession, devotions, and spiritual retreats. The church also runs a monthly youth group and organizes special events throughout the year.
