The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is a Catholic church in Washington, D.C. Its history dates back to the 19th century, when it was founded as a parish for German-speaking Catholics. The church building, constructed in 1888 in the Gothic Revival style, features a twin-spired façade and stained-glass windows of European origin. The church is located at 3819 Massachusetts Avenue NW in the Catholic University of America's neighborhood. History:

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington purchased the land for the Church of the Nativity in 1883 and the building was completed in 1888. The church was designed by architect John A. Dempwolf with Adolphus Druiding as the contractor. The design includes two asymmetrical spires that make the church very recognizable. The interior is a mix of Gothic, Romanesque and Victorian features. Original features include a marble baptismal font and stained glass windows imported from Munich and Berlin.
