Church of the Flight into Egypt is a traditional Christian feast commemorating the Holy Family's journey into Egypt to escape the threatened persecution of Herod the Great. The feast became popular in the 4th century and is celebrated throughout the world today. It is usually celebrated on January 2nd, or on the Sunday within the octave of Epiphany.
