The Royal Film Commission (RFC) is the cultural arm of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’s Ministry of Culture, and is charged with encouraging the production of films in Jordan and promoting filmmaking in the country. History:

The Royal Film Commission-Jordan (RFC) is a Jordanian organization established in 2003 and approved as a civil non-profit institution to play an essential role in the sustainable development of Jordanian audiovisual industry. Its establishment was authorized by a Royal Decree issued to support the film industry in Jordan, and to promote collaboration, creativity and solidarity among members of the industry. The RFC is headed by the Director, whose role is to oversee and provide advice to the board of directors, evaluate reports, and manage, supervise and organize the activities of the Commission. The RFC seeks to enhance the audiovisual industry, as well as the quality of films produced in the country, by developing the necessary infrastructure, enhancing skills, and providing access to funding. The Commission also works to bridge the gap between the art and business aspects of filmmaking by facilitating collaboration between international filmmakers and local producers and audiences. The Commission has provided grants and investments for local films, supported regional and international events, and conducted workshops and masterclasses for filmmaking. The RFC works in cooperation with public and private entities, national and international partners, to promote and develop the Jordanian film industry. The RFC was a cornerstone in the establishment of the Jordanian sister organization, the Jordan Film Commission, in 2017.
