History:
The Temple of Zeus at Olympia was one of the largest and most impressive ancient Greek temples. It was built in 472 BC to honor Zeus, the king of the gods. The temple was a Doric order building with six columns on the short side and eleven columns on the long sides. The temple was 53 meters (175 ft) in length and 23 meters (75 ft) in width and was decorated with sculptures depicting gods and heroes.
