Irbid Saray Osmanli Citadel is a Turkish-style citadel located in the city of Irbid, Jordan. It has been rebuilt many times over the centuries and is today an important tourist attraction. The citadel stands on the eastern bank of the Jordan River and dates back to 1610 when the Ottoman forces captured Irbid from the Mamluks. It was built to protect the city from external attacks, and during its peak, the citadel was surrounded by twelve walls.
