History:
The history of Dana Guesthouse dates back to the mid-19th century, when the area was part of the Ottoman Empire. The area was the ancient land of the Hauran, a site of civilization since the 4th millennium BC that boasted trade and agriculture, as well as numerous fortifications and military units. In 1864, a group of Bedouin families purchased a plot of land near Feynan and built a small complex consisting of several small huts. This complex eventually grew into what is now Dana Guesthouse and the surrounding village of Dana. Over time, the settlement expanded to include a tea house, several shops, and a health clinic. In 1927, the Jordanian government officially recognized Dana Guesthouse as an official guesthouse, and the area has remained a popular destination for travelers and tourists ever since. Currently, Dana Guesthouse offers a variety of activities and amenities, such as trekking, horseback riding, hiking, bird watching, and more. It remains a popular destination for international travelers and a special place for local Bedouin communities to hold conventions or meetings.
