The center was established in 1957 as the Ecumenical Institute for Theological Research, which later became the Ecumenical Institute for Theological Reflection. It was re-established in 1978 as the Christian Information Center and is now part of the Jerusalem Center for Jewish-Christian Relations (JCJCR). It is overseen by the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem. The center provides a library and extensive English-language resources on Christian topics, and information fees and tours of both Christian and Jewish sites in Jerusalem and the Holy Land.
