Church of St. Mary of agony In Jerusalem is a historical Roman Catholic church located in the Christian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. It was built in 1272 and is dedicated to the Virgin Mary, whose traditional site of weeping, or agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, is nearby. The church is widely known for its Franciscan traditions, its bronze doors (designed and constructed by notable Italian artist Vico Consorti in 1894) and its outdoor Agony of the Garden sculpture depicting the betrayal of Jesus. The church is a popular pilgrimage site for many Christian denominations, and is also one of the busiest churches in the city. It offers mass services daily and an annual Easter Procession.
