The Tokyo Central Seventh-day Adventist Church history dates back to the year 1899, when American missionary and physician, Dr. Herbert Merillat, worked with Japanese Sunday-keepers to establish a small group of believers in Tokyo. In 1903, the group was officially organized into a church. Since then, the church has grown rapidly and today, it serves as the largest Seventh-day Adventist congregation in Japan with members from over 24 nationalities.
