History:
Vishnu Temple (Vishnugudi) is known for its majestic architectural designs and stunning landscapes. The temple is known for its gopuram (the large stone tower gateway), murals, figures, sculptures and small wooden steps. The temple includes a murti of Lord Vishnu, along with a carved Dwajastambhas and a Vimana in the middle of a holy tank. The temple is said to be around 600 years old, having been constructed during the period when the Chola rulers were in power. It is believed that during the reign of the Chola kings, a visionary saw Lord Vishnu in his dream and told about the God’s wish to reside in the place where the temple is currently located.
