Overview:
ti Kund is a religious holy site located in Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is situated about 3 km away from Chhata Devi. It is one of the 51 Shakthi Peeths established by Lord Shiva in India. The temple is dedicated to goddess 'Somvati' and was established in the early 10th century. Somavati Kund This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The temple has a 'shivalinga' located in the main hall of the temple. The 'shivalinga' is surrounded by small images of the gods and goddesses. 'Ma Somvati' is worshipped as the main deity in the temple, who is believed to be the incarnation of goddess Laxmi. According to the legends, it is believed that the temple was established by Lord Shiva in the early 10th century.
