he Western Bund Of Enadikulam, Varpet Overview: The Siva Temple On The Western Bund Of Enadikulam, Varpet, is an ancient Hindu shrine situated in Enadikulam village in the Vadakara district of Kerala. The temple was built by the Trannur Illams, one of the five old Illams (land family name)existing in and around Enadikulam. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Hindu god of destruction, and is set on the Western Bund of Enadikulam. The temple is believed to have been in existence since ancient times and has been a part of the ancient village life since time immemorial. Prominant Features: The Siva Temple On The Western Bund Of Enadikulam, Varpet, is an ancient shrine with a prominent tower and plain walls. It is located on a raised platform. The walls of the temple have a silver plaque containing various inscriptions and sculptures of various deities. The main entrance of the temple is flanked by two gopurams made of granite, decorated with sculptures of Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva.
