Overview:
nathji Mahadev temple is a Hindu temple dedicated toLord Shiva. It is located in Lakhani,Diu district in the state of Gujarat, India. The temple is said to be more than 300 years old and is believed to be built by the local kings. The temple complex includes a large courtyard, a tall shikhara, small shrines of several Hindu gods, and a mandapam. The temple is renowned as one of the principal religious sites in the region, as it is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva. The main deity of the temple is Jasmalnathji, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The imposing shikhara of the temple stands tall at 64 feet and is intricately carved in the Maru-Gurjara style. Smaller shrines surrounded by pillars are also present in the temple complex along with a mandapamand two tanks on either side.
