Shantinath Temple is a Jain temple located in the city of Patan, Gujarat, India. The shrine dates back to the 12th century and is one of the most famous monuments of the region. It is dedicated to Shantinath, the 15th Jain Tirthankara. The temple is known for its intricate carvings, sculptures and exquisite architectural details. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The entrance of the Shantinath Temple is amazingly sculpted and is a fine example of architecture. It showcases beautiful mandaps, torans and a majestic dome. Inside the temple, the shrine of Shatninath is located along with a number of other smaller shrines dedicated to Jain Tirthankaras.
