Shahi Masjid, Tinsukia is an historic mosque located in the city of Tinsukia, Assam, India. It was built in 1798 during the Bengal Subah, when the Mughal Empire was in decline. The mosque stands in the middle of a long rectangular courtyard, and is flanked by two minarets, and a large onion dome. The mosque is built in Indo-Saracenic architectural style, and is the oldest mosque in Assam. The mosque holds great cultural and historical significance in the local community, since it serves as a reminder of the Mughal presence in the region. The Shahi Masjid, Tinsukia is a domed mosque that was built in the city of Tinsukia in the state of Assam, India, during the reign of Sultan Ibrahim Khan I. The mosque has five large arches on the east side, and a single arch on each of the other sides. The main prayer hall is surrounded by four galleries and the main arch is topped by a large dome.
