The Shahi Masjid in Mangalore India is a 16th century marvel of ornamentation and grandeur. The mosque was built by Qutb-ud-din Mubarak Shah, the ruler of the Vijayanagara Empire in 1540 AD. The mosque is a mixture of Indo-Saracenic and colonial architecture, with a grand dome atop it, which is topped with five pavilions. The mosque has multiple entrances, which are decorated with intricate carvings and sculptures. The four corners of the mosque are heavily decorated with stucco work and colourful painted tiles, which gives the building a beautiful appearance. Inside the premises of the mosque, there is a courtyard, which houses a domed prayer room and a small minaret.
