Overview:
ut Shrine, Mandagapattu is an ancient rock cut temple located in the Nilambur Taluk of Malappuram district in Kerala, India. This structure is considered to be the finest example of a rock-cut temple in the state. It is considered to be among the oldest rock-cut shrines in Kerala, and is believed to have been constructed by the Kadava family of King Tikka III in the 12th century. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
Rock Cut Shrine, Mandagapattu consists of two large caves, one of which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and the other to Lord Vishnu. The shrine's entrance is curved and semi-circular in shape. Inside, one can find a large number of sculptures depicting Lord Shiva, Vishnu and other Hindu deities. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour
