The mosque was constructed by a local nobleman Sultan Darya Khan in the late 17th century. The architecture of Jama Masjid is based on the Persian and Mughal motifs of Islamic architecture. The northern side of the mosque has five large arched entrances, while the southern side is provided with only a single arch entrance. The minarets are octagonal in shape and are built with masonry stone and brick. The mosque also has a few arched galleries which open out into the courtyard.
