Brief History:

is an old mosque located in the walled city of Indore, in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Built in 1637 by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, it is one of the largest mosques in India and is known for its intricate architecture. It is situated in the heart of the city and can accommodate more than 1,500 worshipers. Inside there are three large domes and five minarets (prayer towers) surrounded by carved stone pillars. The walls of the mosque are made of sandstone and feature floral ornamentation and calligraphy. The roof features four cupolas and is said to have been a gift from the Mughal Emperor. The Jama Masjid of Indore is a historic mosque constructed in 1637 CE. It is located in the city of Indore, in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. The mosque was constructed by a local nobleman Sultan Darya Khan in the late 17th century. The architecture of Jama Masjid is based on the Persian and Mughal motifs of Islamic architecture. The two-storeyed mosque is rectangular in shape and is built of red stone and grey marble. The northern side of the mosque has five large arched entrances, while the southern side is provided with only a single arch entrance. In the middle of the mosque is a large courtyard with a marble tank at the both the sides of the entrance arch. The mosque has a single dome that crowns the central prayer hall. The dome is made of stone and marble and is decorated with geometric patterns and lines. The walls of the mosque are covered with Quran inscriptions. There are also small windows with wooden lattices which add to the beauty of the mosque. The mosque also has four minarets flanking the corners which are about fifty feet tall. The minarets are octagonal in shape and are built with masonry stone and brick. The mosque also has a few arched galleries which open out into the courtyard. The mosque is a symbol of the rich Islamic heritage of the city. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
