Rampol gate and the mosque apposite to it is located in the city of Agra, India. This gate and the mosque offer a grand view of the archaeological masterpiece, Taj Mahal. The Rampol Gate is flanked by two majestic red sandstone pillars that guard the west entrance of the ramparts built around the city. These pillars were built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar as a part of Agra Fort city wall. The mosque adjacent to the gate is known as Jami Masjid (Friday Mosque) and was constructed by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan.
