Overview:
esvara Temple is an ancient Hindu temple situated in the temple town of Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. The temple is dedicated to Pranavesvara- a form of Lord Shiva. It is believed to have been constructed in the 12th century AD. Pranavesvara Temple This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The temple is built in the South Indian Architecture. Divided into the Sabha (sanctum), Mukha mandapa and Ardha mandapa, the temple houses a trident-shaped Shiva Linga for Lord Shiva and Swayambhu Lingas for Goddess Parvathi, Lord Ganesha and Karthikeya. Pranavesvara Temple is one of the oldest temples in Tirupati and holds an important place in the culture and tradition of Tirupati.
