Malleswar Temple is an ancient Hindu temple located in Karnataka, India. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the state. This temple is said to have been built in the 9th century CE by two of the greatest Mahalinga kings in Karnataka, namely the Kadamba dynasty and the Chola dynasty. History:

The Malleswar Temple is quite large and is built in typical South Indian style of architecture. Its central attraction is its tall gopuram or entrance tower which stands at a height of 40 feet and is believed to have been constructed some 800 years ago. Inside the temple complex, there is a big Shivalinga which is said to be more than 600 years old. There are also several shrines dedicated to Lord Ganesh, Lord Hanuman, and Goddess Parvati.
