Overview:
Lottan Masjid is located close to the famous Golden Temple and was built in 1570. The complex covers an area of nearly three acre and includes several structures, including a pond. The mosque features a triple dome structure with three arches facing towards Mecca, indicating the mosque's direction for prayer. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
Lottan Masjid is primarily built from red stone, which was procured from the nearby hills. It has an elaborately carved facade and several intricately carved stone screens. The tower has a pointed spire and is decorated with several white marble screens. The entrance of the mosque features an open arcade with seven arches, providing ventilation and support to the structure. You must visit one of these historical places in India on your India tour
