The Durga Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess Durga, located in Aihole in the Indian state of Karnataka. The temple was constructed during the 6th–7th centuries CE and is among the most important Hindu temples in south India. It is believed to be one of the oldest temples of its kind in India. History:

The main shrine of the temple encloses an image of the goddess Durga. The main doorway of the shrine has an interesting design of four lions is flanked by two temple guardians, or 'dvarapalas'.
