Overview:
Lesser Siva Temple(Kanthalingesvara temple) , Tenneri (Madavilaam) is one of the oldest and most important Hindu temple located in Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala. It is also known as the Kazhugumalai temple. The temple has been popular from ancient times, due to its miraculous powers and the strong devotion of devotees. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The major deities worshipped in the temple are Siva and Parvathi. The temple is known for its grandeur and the artistic design of its many sculptures. The temple complex consists of a main temple, a shrine dedicated to Siva, a mandapa and a small pond located at the far end.
