Overview:
The temple is situated on the banks of Mandakini river in the sacred town of Chitrakoot. The main temple is surrounded by four smaller temples, and is believed to have been built during the 12th century, though experts believe that the temple may have seen some restoring after the Mughal invasion. The main temple is the cubic structure that is surrounded by four smaller temples. There are four gates in the main temple, each one depicting the Hindu gods- Brahma, Shiva, Vishnu and Ganesha.
