swarswamy Temple is an ancient Hindu temple in the city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is one of the oldest and most revered temples in the area and houses an impressive shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is located in the Mylapore area of Chennai, just six kilometers from the railway station. Kalleswarswamy Temple This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The main feature of the temple lies in the huge statue of Lord Shiva in a sitting posture. It is said to measure around 8 feet long and three feet wide. Another prominent feature is the black stone statue of Nandi, Shiva's bull, placed in front of the temple. The temple also houses many other shrines dedicated to other gods, including Ganesha, Murugan, Hanuman and more.
