Jahaz Mahal is a famous monument located in Madhya Pradesh, India. It is located in the Mandu fort complex and is one of the most visited attractions in the state. It was constructed during the 15th century and has now become one of the major tourist attractions of the country. The palace is an example of excellent architecture and has been a major landmark of Mandu since centuries. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The most prominent feature of the Jahaz Mahal is its two storeyed structure. It is built in such a way that it looks like a ship floating in the lake giving it a unique name of Jahaz (meaning Ship) Mahal. The architectural design of the palace is a great example of the fifteenth century Islamic and Rajput architecture.
