Jahangirabad Tila In India: History,Facts, & Services
Overview:
irabad Tila is an ancient fort located in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India at a distance of 20 km from Allahabad city. It was constructed by Mughal Emperor Jahangir in 1610 and dissolved after his death in 1627. It features a massive stone gateway, a few Hindu temples, and several Islamic mosques. The fort also houses a Mausoleum, a 12th Century pillar, two water tanks, and a Burj Stand. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The main entrance of the fort is known as the Aam Khas Bagh, which was the entrance for the royal family and the inner circle of the courtiers. It has two bridges, an elephant corridor, and a monumental Chihil Sutun, an administrative building. There is also a palace complex, a royal pavilion, a royal camp, and a royal mosque. Jahangirabad Tila is believed to be the site where Babur and Humayun set forth their campaign towards Delhi and hence, is also called 'Chakra Prastha.’ The fort was declared a Protected Area in 1973 under the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act XXXI of 1958.Visit one of the famous monuments of India with your friends and family.
