Overview:
ra, Kella Nezamat is an 18th century Mughal-style mosque in Lucknow, India. It was built as a part of the Bara Imambara complex by Asaf-ud-Daula, the fourth Nawab of Awadh. The complex also includes a large hall known as the Asafi Mosque. The Imambara was built to commemorate the death of the holy month of Muharram. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The Imambara features a series of arched doorways, intricate stonework and beautifully painted walls. It is the largest prayer hall in India, measuring about 54 meters by 44 meters. The main prayer hall of the Imambara is covered with ornamental chandeliers, stuccoed walls, exquisite mirrors, and an impressive central dome.
