The Gunmant Mosque, also known as Ghumant Mosque or Ghumant Mosjid, is one of the oldest mosques in India. Built in the 16th century, the mosque is said to have been commissioned by Qazi Azimuddin during the Mughal period. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The Gunmant Mosque is of great architectural importance as it is a blend of Mughal, Iranian, and Dutch architecture. The mosque was built on a raised platform and has several notable features. These include a large central hall, three gates, three tanks, and a red-bricked interior. The mosque also has a spacious courtyard and several extensions.
