ar is a historical town located in Sheohar District in Bihar, India. The town is well known for the ruins of an old fort, the important historical temple of Matandisev Nath and its ponds. The fort was built by a ruler of ancient India named Harihara Pratap Singh. The ruins of the fort along with the ruins of a couple of other structures can still be seen. • Golaghar Fort: – Situated on a hillock, the fort was constructed by Raja Harihar Pratap Singh in 13th century. It has many gates and towers. • Matandisev Nath Temple: – This is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva which has some remarkable and attractive architecture. It has a huge Nandi idol placed in the temple premises. • Ancient Ponds: – There are some ancient ponds here which reflect the history of the town in a unique manner. Golaghar is over 600 years old and was established by Raja Harihar Pratap Singh in the 13th century A.D. He was ruling over a small kingdom and built the fort in order to consolidate his kingdom. After his demise, the whole place fell in a state of disrepair. Unfortunately, when the British rule began the fort was damaged further. However, in present times the state of the place is completely restored and the ruins of the fort can still be seen.
