Overview:
ar Jain Temple is a sacred space of worship for Jains. It is dedicated to Diagambara Tirthankara Adinath. The temple follows the doctrine of the Digambara sect of Jainism and serves as a place for spiritual contemplation and worship. Within the temple, shrines dedicated to the 24 Tirthankaras of Jainism are found, with statues or images of each of the Tirthankaras present. This is unique from other sects of Jainism which have only twenty-two Tirthankaras. This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
The Digambar Jain Temple is an elaborate structure that stands several storeys tall and made up of a variety of structures. The temple is said to have been built in the late 1960s, and no extensive renovations have been completed since then. It has a central shrine which houses the 24 Tirthankara idols, the Ashtamangala mandapam pavilion, the Mahavira Hall and a series of staircases. In addition, the temple complex is surrounded by lush green courtyards, gardens and ponds that add to its decorative and religious appeal.
