Brief History:

Dargah Hazrat Syed Saifuddin Sahib, Mysore is a renowned shrine located about 9 kms away from Mysore city in Karnataka. This Dargah is dedicated to the Sufi Saint, Hazrat Syed Saifuddin Sahib (R.A.). He was a devoted follower of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), and also instructed his followers to observe the teachings of the Holy Quran. Hazrat Syed Saifuddin Sahib came to Karnataka, where he preached and taught Islamic spiritualism to the local people and also established the famous Dargah complex at this location in 1743. This place is visited by hundreds of devotees of Hazrat Syed Saifuddin Sahib (R.A.) from all parts of the state as well as other parts of India and the world. The dargah complex is spread over 5 acres and is home to several shrines dedicated to various Sufi saints such as Hazrat Syed Buchli Baba (R.A.), Hazrat Syed Ali Khan Sahib (R.A.) and Hazrat Syed Mohammed Baba (R.A.). The Dargah also houses a Madrasa where Islamic education is imparted and a charitable hospital providing free medical aid to the poor and needy. Every year, devotees from across the nation throng this Dargah on the occasion of the Urs (death anniversary) of Hazrat Syed Saifuddin Sahib to pay their respects. Architecture:

The Dargah Hazrat Syed Saifuddin Sahib is located in the city of Mysore in Karnataka, India. It is believed to have been constructed by Tipu Sultan, who was the ruler of Mysore at the time. The dargah is a very interesting blend of Hindu and Islamic Architecture. The main building of the dargah is made up of two storeys, and includes a prayer hall, a courtyard, a mubarak mausoleum, and a series of arches. On the other side of the dargah is a vast open area which serves as a graveyard for both Hindus and Muslims. The mausoleum is constructed in true Islamic style, with intricate carved floral patterns, and an attached dome-shaped roof. The arches and archways of the building have an ornate Hindu style, with floral and geometric patterns, providing the entrance to the dargah. Inside, the prayer hall is home to several tombs and a grave of Hazrat Syed Saifuddin Sahib, which is draped with religious flags. There is also a small kitchen and a langar (community kitchen) in the premises of the dargah. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.

Visiting Hours:

The official visiting hours of Dargah Hazrat Syed Saifuddin Sahib in Mysore, India are 7am to 10am and 4pm to 8pm daily. The mausoleum also has a special open-to-all prayer group every Thursday evening, starting at 8pm. best mosque in the world.
