Overview:
The ruin of Chaubara Dara is located 4 km north of the city of Bhimber. It is located on the southwestern bank of the Choba Cistern in the Kurana Mountains. It is situated between Islamabad and Jhelum and on the Grand Trunk Road. Chaubara Dara This national monument of India portrays the history and culture of the country.
History:
It is a large, walled fortress with a keep and a bailey that is approximately 400 feet long and 200 feet wide. The walls rise up to a height of 15 feet in some areas and are surrounded by a guard tower. The main entrance to the fort is located on the northern side, near to the guard tower. Interesting facts:
The fort plays an important role in the culture and folklore of Bhimber, and has been the source of many local tales. According to the tales, a battle was fought between the Durrani forces and the Sikh forces at the fort.
