History:

The Presbyterian Church of Fiji is believed to have been founded in 1837, when the Rev. George Doig and his wife arrived in Fiji to serve as missionaries. Doig had trained in Scotland as a Church of Scotland minister, and he began preaching to local Fijian people. Doig and his wife raised a family in Fiji, and their efforts were taken over by other missionaries who set up churches around the country during the 1800s. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Fiji.
