It was established in 1999 as a result of an initiative by the Pentecostal Union of New Zealand, which sent missionaries to Fiji to connect with local churches and bring the Pentecostal message of divine presence, power and guidance to the Fijian people. History:

The Pentecostal Church of Fiji traces its roots back to 1999 when it was first established. In 1999, the Pentecostal Union of New Zealand sent two missionaries to Fiji, the Reverends David and Winifred Lavea, to start the work of bringing the Pentecostal message to the people of Fiji. Through the efforts of the missionaries, the Church quickly caught on and spread fast, with over 300 churches and worship centers spread throughout Fiji by 2002. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Fiji.
