The beginnings of the church can be traced back to 1992, when an Estonian Bible study led by local pastor Urmas Kaal was begun. The church opened its doors as Valkla Baptist Church in February 1996, and was affiliated with the Baptist Union of Finland and Estonia a year later. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Estonia.
