History:
It is believed to have been founded in 1240, when it was dedicated to the Archangel Michael. It is said that it once was a church of two separate parishes – Nissi and Keila. The main part of the building was completed in the 15th century, and a belfry was added in 1613. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Estonia.
