The first known mention of the Harju-Risti Church In Estonia dates back to the 14th century and the present building is believed to be the third incarnation of the original structure. The church is known for its high Gothic towers and for an impressive interior of sculptured decorations. The church also houses a museum, a library, and a cemetery. History The original church was mentioned in documents in 1381, but it is believed to have been built earlier than that. In the 17th century, the church was destroyed by fire and a new building, made of stone, was built in 1720. The church underwent further renovations in the 19th century, which included the addition of new windows and a new clock tower.
