Christs Church was built in 1847, replacing a much older building on the same site. It is an outstanding example of a 19th century Victorian church, one of the few remaining of its kind in the area. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in England.

The spire stands at 83ft tall, and the clock that hangs in the tower was a generous gift from the Revd Ellis Arbuthnot himself in 1847. There is a bellcote containing a single bell, cast in 1849 at the Whitechapel Bell Foundry in London.

The church also hosts regular social activities such as a monthly lunch club, open to all members of the community.
