St Matthew's Church, Perry Beeches In England: History,Facts, & Services
History:
The church was built between 1804-1808, and the original foundation stone was laid by Lady Anne Beeches Wombwell in 1804. It was designed by the local architect Samuel James in a Neoclassical style, and consists of a nave, chancel and an octagonal vestry. The church underwent a major restoration in 1881. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in England.

-St Matthew's Church is the oldest surviving building in the Perry Beeches area. -The present organs were installed in 1917, and a fourth manual was added in 2007. -The roof, including galleries, underwent extensive renovation in 1994.
