History:
Saint Mary's Church was first consecrated in 1086, although the main part of the building dates back to the 15th century. It was built at the expense of Richard Heyford, who resided in the nearby Castle Quarters. The church underwent several renovations in the 19th century, and significant restoration work was undertaken in 1902. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in England.

Saint Mary's Church is home to a number of historic features, including an early 19th-century cadet chapel, a 15th century nave with an oak hammer beam roof, an 18th-century clock, effigies dating back to the 17th century, a 12th-century font, and a musical clock dating back to 1866.
Services:
Saint Mary's Church regularly holds services on Sundays and Wednesdays by invitation. There is also a weekly Bible study on Wednesday mornings, a prayer meeting on Thursday mornings, and a mid-week Eucharist on Thursday evenings.
