Saint Euphemia (also known as Saint Euphemia) was a famous martyr in the early 4th century, and her feast day is celebrated on September 16th. The Church of Saint Euphemia was built by the Byzantines in Constantinople in the 5th century AD to house her relics. The church was destroyed in the violent struggles between the East and West Roman Empire and rebuilt in 1210 by the Crusaders in what is now known as the Kanli Kula Fortress in Mula, Turkey.
