Peggy's Point Lighthouse is a historic red-and-white striped lighthouse located in Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia. The original lighthouse was built in 1868 to guide vessels navigating one of the most treacherous coasts in Canada. As the Sou’wester Lighthouse aged, severe deterioration, including a cracked foundation, caused the Canadian government to build a new lighthouse in 1915.
