History:
St. James Parish Church In Barbados was founded in 1628 by the English settlers from the English ship, Sea Venture. The church was built from a mixture of stone, brick and coral and was the first of the 26 Anglican churches built in Barbados. The first recorded baptism at the church took place in 1629. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Barbados.

St. James Parish Church In Barbados is one of the oldest churches in Barbados, and is still a thriving place of worship today. In 1680, the church was partially destroyed in a hurricane, but was quickly rebuilt with help from the community. Inside the church, visitors can see several fine examples of 17th and 18th century furniture, painting and carvings.

The church offers a variety of services, including morning and evening prayer, Bible studies and Sunday school. The church also provides pastoral care, Christian counseling and marriage counseling services.
